Free Mother's Day Events in the Triad
Mother's Day is a day of appreciation and gratitude for all the incredible moms out there. It is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of May. Anna Jarvis, a woman from West Virginia, is the founder of this special day. She created Mother's Day as a way to honor her own mother who passed away in 1905. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation declaring Mother's Day a national holiday. Today, it is an important day to show love and appreciation to all the mothers in our lives.
